The Hot Yam
The Hot Yam! is a volunteer-run, vegan, mostly local and organic eatery where our members learn by doing and follow equitable decision making practices. Each week, we serve up a $4 complete meal to the greater U of T community lovingly prepared by a collective of dedicated volunteers. Love to cook or just want to pick up some tips? Bikechain is UofT’s cycling promotion and educational repair facility. Built on a philosophy that encourages the active involvement of our community to enact positive change, the facility offers a hands-on educational experience to all those who are interested in bicycle repair and maintenance. For those members of the University community without a bike, Bikechain offers bikes free to rent. Bikechain also hosts regular seminars on bicycle safety and maintenance. It is open to all members of the university community including students, staff and faculty. Stop by to learn how to give your bicycle some TLC.

Celebrating 25 years of commitment to social justice at UofT, OPIRG-Toronto is part of an international network of Public Interest Research Groups (PIRG’s), including ten others in Ontario. OPIRG-Toronto is entirely student (levy) and community (membership) funded. Volunteers are always welcome, and may get involved in one of the many Action Groups, work in the office, do a research project, support community campaigns, or join the Board of Directors.
