The Equity Studies Studentsu2019 Union is the main representative body of students who are studying Equity Studies at the University of Toronto and seek to work towards equity in their everyday lives. ESSU supports students in their academic endeavors and encourage students to take what they learn in class to advocate for anti-oppression both on campus and society at large. Our biggest event of the year, Linked Oppressions, will include a week-long series of panels and workshops that relate to contemporary issues in the community and put them into conversation with equity theories and practices across a variety of disciplines. We are also happy to be hosting several de-stressor socials during the year to give folks a place to escape during times of high pressure. Weu2019re always looking for new ways to bring people together, so stay updated! Students can also look forward to panel discussions, conversation cafes, and workshops all built around an equity foundation aiming to connect students to activism on and off campus.
